Justice for Breonna Taylor
Unlike the others, there is no video evidence of Breonna Taylor’s unjust death, which is why it is believed that her murderers have yet to be arrested.
Louisville Police Department performed an illegal raid on her home, firing 22 shots and hitting Taylor 8 times while she was asleep. LPD later admitted that they had raided the wrong home, making her death even more sorrowful.
The suspect that they were looking for had already been arrested earlier that day.
Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker was charged with attempted murder for firing back at the officers who failed to identify themselves and were not in uniform upon entering the home.
LPD has also lied about where the warrant was and tried to insinuate that Walker was responsible for Taylor’s murder.
Taylor’s police report is nearly blank with no premises or notes, but does list that there was no forced entry or injuries caused during the time of her literal murder.
Since the rise of protests, the Breonna Taylor law was passed banning no-knock search warrants and enforcing the use of operating body cameras on all LPD officers. Meanwhile, Taylor’s murderers still roam free.
Breonna Taylor was an award-winning EMT whose mother, Tamika Palmer, describes as only ever wanting to “save lives.” Therefore, Palmer believes “it's important this law passes, because with that, she'll get to continue to do that, even in her death.”
