How to Stay Warm and Stylish in the Winter

Many people have a hard time believing that it is possible to stay warm and be stylish during the cold seasons, but it is more than possible. Haute Green Tea has provided a few styling hacks to assure that you don’t sacrifice your good outfits simply because temperatures are low.

The first step to staying chic and warm in the winter is layering. Many people tend to go for big, cozy items when shopping for winter clothing, but they later realize that those items don’t provide the most warmth. Your base layers should be breathable, yet snug to your body to trap the heat in. An example of a base layer may include long underwear thermals, bodysuits, or tights. Secondary layers should also be thin, but they may be visible so this is your chance to show your style. An example of a secondary layer may include a turtleneck. Since you are layering, you may consider mixing prints, colors, and/or textures for a bolder look. The third layer of your outfit may finally include your chunky knits or blazers. The last layer is of course your outerwear.

The next step includes your styling abilities. You may experiment with tucking turtlenecks or half-tucking sweaters, belting your blazers, layering two pairs of printed socks, or mixing prints/colors/textures.

The final step is to accessorize. Use outer layers as your opportunity to accessorize. Shop for unique looking coats, scarves, gloves, hats, and boots.

With these steps you’ll be chic every winter.
