How to Color Block Your Outfits

colour-wheel.jpg

With summer near, you’re probably searching for unique ways to add color to your outfits. Color-blocking is a sure way to brighten up your wardrobe.

Choose 2-3 colors that you think pair well together. If you don’t know where to start, look at a color wheel. Try choosing colors that are either close together on the wheel or directly across from one another. Some of my personal favorites include red and pink, pink and orange, orange and yellow, yellow (or orange) and green, green and blue, blue and purple, or purple and green. Check out these examples for inspiration.

If you feel overwhelmed by pairing a bunch of colors together, try pairing a bright color with a neutral color. For example, a pop of lime green with gray. Check out these examples.

Feeling completely lost and defeated? Find pieces that already do the work for you. Finding duotone clothing items isn’t the hardest task. Here’s what I’ve found.
